A small model. A real story.
Hand-painted historical miniatures, aircraft models and micro-dioramas inspired by real history.
Each piece is based on photographs, paintings and historical sources, from ancient to modern times.
Microhistory Models Italy is a small personal collection dedicated to historical modelling, atmosphere and storytelling.
Every model is designed as a compact scene: a subject, a base, a label, and a real story behind it.
Fiat 500 — A Little Italian Icon Reborn
A small tribute to one of Italy’s most beloved cars: the legendary Fiat 500, first introduced in 1957. This little project began as an old toy, carefully repaired and repainted as a gift for my son, who personally chose its new blue colour. Just three hours of enjoyable work, bringing a little piece of Italian motoring history back to life. Sometimes, the simplest projects carry the most special memories.
Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. F/8 — Stalingrad 1942
A 1:100 micro-diorama inspired by a wartime Bundesarchiv photograph. A German assault gun advances along a dusty track towards Stalingrad in September 1942. Dry steppe vegetation, pale soil and strong tonal contrasts recreate the atmosphere of the original image. A small historical scene built around a real photographic reference.
Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk — Aviano 1996
A compact 1:72 display scene combining aviation history, memory and storytelling. It represents F-117A 85-0832 / HO, 8th Fighter Squadron “Black Sheep”, displayed at Aviano Air Base during “Ali su Aviano” in July 1996. The model was completed as a personal gift for Fabio, a friend.
Early Roman Army c. 578 - 400 BC
A historically grounded 15 mm DBA reconstruction of an Early Roman Army c.578 - 400 BC.
6./Infanterie-Regiment 577 — Barrikady, Stalingrad 1942
A historically grounded 15 mm Crossfire reconstruction of 6./Infanterie-Regiment 577 during the assault on the Barrikady Gun Factory on 16 October 1942.
138th Rifle Division — Barrikady, Stalingrad 1942
A historically grounded 15 mm Crossfire reconstruction of elements of the 650th Rifle Regiment during the desperate fighting in the Barrikady district in November 1942.
Aircraft Models
A growing collection of aircraft models displayed as compact historical scenes.
Micro-Dioramas
Small-scale military and civilian scenes focused on atmosphere, storytelling and careful presentation.
A growing collection of hand-painted historical miniatures and wargame armies, presented as compact tabletop forces.
Workbench
A short look at current and recently completed modelling projects.
Each model is catalogued with a personal code and accompanied, when available, by a short historical and modelling sheet. This is part of the pleasure of the project: not only building the model, but also preserving the small story behind it.
Research & historical note
My models are based on a combination of published books, kit documentation, period photographs, colour profiles and personal modelling notes.
This website is apolitical and non-partisan. The models and images shown here are presented only as historical and modelling subjects.
My interest is focused on machines, technology, colours, craftsmanship and history, not on ideology. Modelling can bring people together as one of the many forms of human art.
